The Most Enjoyable Way to Discover the World Starts with Uçur Tur...
Our tour with Thy during the winter break is all-inclusive.
Our journey begins on Sunday, November 15th, at 7:15 PM with a gathering in front of the THY counter at the Istanbul Airport International Terminal. After checking in and completing passport procedures, we board Turkish Airlines flight TK 0372 at 10:15 PM and head to Samarkand. After approximately 4.5 hours of flight, we arrive in Samarkand at 4:40 AM, where we first have breakfast to regain our strength. In Samarkand, our first stop is Gur-i Emir (the mausoleum of Timur Khan). Afterwards, we visit Registan Square and the madrasas there, including Uluğ Bey, Tilla Kari, and Şirdar. We take a look at the Bibi Khanim Mosque from the outside and then go to Samarkand’s famous Siyab Bazaar. After visiting the Ubeydullah Ahrar mausoleum as well, we have dinner and check into our hotel. We will be in Samarkand tonight.
After breakfast, we continue our tour of Samarkand. First, we visit the Imam Bukhari complex, which reopened after a long restoration period. We then head to the Shah-i Zinde cemetery complex, where we pay tribute to the grave of Kusam bin Abbas, the son of our Prophet’s uncle, and observe the various tombs that are each like works of art. Next, we explore the observatory and museum of the great scholar and ruler Ulug Beg. After visiting a workshop where the famous Samarkand paper, made from mulberry bark using traditional methods for thousands of years, is produced, we have dinner and head to the Samarkand train station. Following a pleasant train ride, we arrive in Bukhara and check into our hotel.
We are in Bukhara all day today. In this city, one of the most important stops along the historic Silk Road, we will visit historical sites such as the Tomb of Ismail Samani, the Fountain and Shrine of Prophet Ayub, Bolo Havuz Mosque, Ark Fortress, and the structures within the Payi Kalan Complex including Kalan Minaret, Mir Arab Madrasa, Juma Mosque, Uluğ Bey Madrasa, Abdülaziz Khan Madrasa, Magaki Attari Mosque, Nadir Divan Begi Madrasa, and Char Minar. We will remain in Bukhara tonight as well
After having our breakfast, we check out of the hotel and first visit the tombs of Seyyid Emir Külal and Bahaeddin Nakşibend, important figures in Islamic Sufism. After seeing the summer palace of the Bukhara emirs as well, we embark on an exciting journey. Passing through the Kyzylkum Desert and traveling along the Amu Darya River, also known as the Jeyhun River, we arrive at the city of Hive, where time seems to have stood still for hundreds of years. We have dinner there and then return to our hotel.
Today we will explore Hive. We enter this fairy-tale city, located very close to the Turkmenistan border and listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, through its main gate called Ata Darvaza. Here we see the Muhammad Emin Khan Madrasa, Kalta Minar Tower, Köhne Ark Fortress, Muhammad Rahim Khan Madrasa and the Hive Khans Museum, Muhammad Emin Inak Madrasa and Science Museum, Allah Kulu Khan’s Stone Courtyard Palace and Harem Section, Juma Mosque and Minaret, and Islam Hoca Madrasa and Minaret. After some free time to stroll around the marketplaces at our leisure, we head to the airport in Urgench, the current capital of the Khorezm region located about 40 km away, at the scheduled time. Following a 1.5-hour flight with a local airline, we arrive in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, have dinner, and check into our hotel. We will be in Tashkent tonight.
